The Planet Dog Foundation has awarded a $3,500 grant to The Austin Dog Alliance that will help fund its work helping people with developmental disabilities learn social skills.
The finding will provide handler-dog teams that will visit local hospitals, rehabilitation centers and nursing homes and provide pet therapy to youth and young adults on the autism spectrum.
The Austin Dog Alliance is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides unique group social skills development programs. Its mission is to improve the health and well-being of individuals and families through programs that incorporate the powerful connection between humans and dogs.
